ANZAC Day Ceremony

Livia and Ashleigh reading the Ode at the ANZAC Day ceremony
Last Monday, many of us witnessed first hand an inspirational Anzac Day ceremony where the community spirit on display was a fine example, I’m sure, of what the Anzac spirit is. Being my first Anzac Day at Hamilton Island, I was particularly struck by the magnitude of the event and how the sense of occasion connected the whole community.
After speaking with numerous students it appeared, too, that they also understood the significance of the ceremony and humbly acted accordingly. Our school leaders did a superb job in trying conditions  reading The Ode and the laying of a wreath. A big thank you must be given to our entire staff in preparing the students for the occasion and to the families  who were able to bring their children to the ceremony.
